Smart Steps at Scoil an Linbh Íosa since 2024
Smart Steps was first invited to Scoil an Linbh Íosa, Carrigans, in 2022, and the service began operating in 2024 once the right team was in place to support local children and families.
Since then, it has become a valued part of daily school life, providing reliable school-age childcare in a warm, familiar and supportive setting.
Children are encouraged to play, create, build friendships and enjoy daily routines in a safe school environment where they can feel settled and confident.
We work closely with school leadership and the Board of Management to ensure that the service reflects the ethos, routines and safeguarding standards of Scoil an Linbh Íosa.

Scoil an Linbh Íosa is a welcoming mixed primary school serving the Carrigans community and surrounding rural areas.
With approximately 80 pupils, the school provides a warm and supportive environment where children are encouraged to learn, grow and take part fully in school life.
Located in Carrigans, approximately 11km from Derry / Londonderry and 16km from Raphoe and Lifford, Scoil an Linbh Íosa is a warm and caring school community where children can build confidence, friendships and a strong sense of belonging.
